Trump is president- again- because white centrists/moderates/liberals/progressives/leftists/whatevers- as well as their assimilation-hungry "respectable" BIPOC peers- are irrelevant.
Do not confuse "irrelevant" with "inconsequential".
Because inconsequential people lack standing in the status quo and are limited in their ability to effect change, good or otherwise.
Which is tragic, given the incredible amount of wisdom that so many so-called "inconsequential" people have.
Irrelevant people, on the other hand and despite clinging to misguided ideologies that theoretically would allow for a system that benefits them but would, somehow, allow for a comfortable level of "inclusion" of people who are oppressed by the same system, have a place in the status quo- or proximity to it (or a fervent desire as well as the possibility of obtaining such a station) and do great damage before, inevitably, they become nullified.
The irrelevant lot met the systemic work that presented itself to them on 1/20/21 with fear, weaponized incompetence, and a collective laziness that still astonishes me to this day, as the USA refuses to see the coup that is staring us in the face.
They treated the Biden/Harris years like an extended brunch, getting- and staying- drunk on delusion and endless mimosas.
They cannibalized the careers of the few that dared to approach their table to hold them accountable- to pay their tab, so to speak- for the promises they and their leaders made in 2020.
They bastardized the vocabulary that was intended to articulate a path to systemic transformation.
Thanks to them, terms like "anti-racist", "intersectionality", and "progressive" all mean less than nothing now.
They were silent as their elected officials failed to deliver on campaign promises and developed rug burns from crawling across the aisle to prove what good centrists they were.
And, now, here we are.
45 is now 47.
But Elon Musk is actually the one in charge.
And the Democratic Party's rhetoric continues to center a "bold" centrist agenda that guarantees "radical" incrementalism.
Using one word to cancel out the other and ensure that, no matter what is SAID, nothing actually meaningful is DONE.
Just sounds from self-important mouths released into the air, worthless, yet discomforting as a dog fart.
Dog fart philosophies.
Dog fart policies.
Dog fart politics.
No, I don't believe I'll be holding my nose and fucking with them- or that- any time soon.
